The "Schoolmasters Choice" cane is the archetype of the English school cane.
The "Junior" was simply used on smaller children, while larger pupils' backsides made the acquaintance of the "Senior". for special offences the pupils were punished with three to four blows on the inside of the left hand (lefties on the right hand)

Junior: diameter 8 millimetres, length 80 centimetres,
Senior: diameter 10 millimetres, length 90 centimetres
